Yad Sarah Propels into Emergency Mode as Deadly Iran Strikes Continue to Threaten Israeli Homefront

As a designated national emergency organization, Yad Sarah’s services are vital to providing care in times of crisis

Jerusalem, June 16, 2025 –  Since a state of national emergency in Israel was announced early on June 13th in light of Iranian anticipated reprisal attacks, Yad Sarah, Israel’s leading non-governmental healthcare and social services organization, has remained mobilized at heightened alert.

Amid the current unprecedented threat to Israeli civilian populations, Yad Sarah teams are providing vital home health care and social assistance through a wide range of services and equipment, while maintaining the highest safety standards and adherence to Homefront Command restrictions.

Regional and department managers are working directly in the field to ensure speedy continuity of care, and dedicated volunteers have risen to action, staffing branches across the country, including the Rehovot branch that sustained damage from missile fire last night.

Since the launch of Israel’s “Operation Rising Lion” against Iran, Yad Sarah’s Emergency Medical Hotline has responded to 2,207 emergency calls from across the country with life-saving assistance including:

  • 456 respiratory emergencies that required the dispatch of medical assistance
  • 212 cardiac events requiring immediate ambulance evacuation
  • 789 medical inquiries handled through professional consultation and follow-up instructions
  • 52 doctor house calls
  • 621 falls on the way to protected shelters, requiring neighbors, relatives, or lifting responders to be summoned
  • 77 calming/support calls managed by the hotline’s trained staff

Yad Sarah is also updating the general public that the following resources are available and that branches with protected spaces are open for service:

  • Frenkel Emergency Medical Center: Yad Sarah’s urgent care clinic is operating as usual, with reinforced medical staff.
  • General Assistance Centers: Reinforced and responding to every request.
  • Home Hospitalization Equipment and Services: Expanded to enable rapid discharge from hospitals and support for the wounded and recovering.
  • Transportation Fleet: Reinforced with volunteers and vehicles to ensure mobility
  • Community Pharmacy: Operating with a delivery system and supplying life-saving medications free of charge.
  • Home and Community Services: Operating in a per need basis
  • Family Hospitality Units (Jerusalem, Beer Sheva, Ra’anana): Open to provide temporary housing for families accompanying injured loved ones.
  • Rehabilitation Equipment: Day rehab centers are temporarily closed for the safety of patients, but rehabilitation equipment can be borrowed for home use.
  • Mobile Dental Clinics: Operating as usual and providing comprehensive care to homebound patients.

“The devotion of our teams and all the civil response personnel who are selflessly rising to the task to help others, embodies the spirit of Israeli mutual responsibility and compassion,” said Yad Sarah CEO Moshe Cohen. “Yad Sarah will remain dedicated to offering the Israeli public emotional and physical comfort and support, as we have throughout the war and in routine times.”
